My Birthday this year was a good birthday. Phone calls, texts, emails, Facebook wall posts from family and friends throughout the day made me smile. I came home from work to a wonderful home cooked meal that Marc had prepared.
I was happy.
Instead of a cake this year, I decided that I wanted a few cupcakes - chocolate with pink icing (to be exact.) After dinner, we drove to the cupcakery and I picked out my bday cupcakes. I was careful with the box the entire way home. While leaving the parking lot, a car nearly side swiped us; Marc took a few fast turns here and there, but the cup cakes were still intact.
That is, until I got out of the car in the garage. Then it happened. The box fell out of my hand and landed sideways on the garage floor. The first thought that came to mind was a scene from "The Electric Company" (back in the '70's) -- the baker is being careful with the cake, he suddenly trips, falls down the stairs, the cake land everywhere. That didnt happen to me, but it felt like it.
The photo above is how the cupcakes looked after the fall. Marc and I had a good laugh.
Life happens -- even on your birthday. :)
