A few months ago, the drain backed up, sending water out to the carpeted area in our lower level. UGH! (Apparently, tree roots were the cause of the problem.) After it happened again, we talked about pulling up the carpet and replacing it with tile. Instead of new tile for the entire area, the owner agreed to a tile/ hard wood floor combo. Recently, the first phase of the new floor was completed.

{First Day of Autumn - 2013}

Today is the first day of Autumn.

The season officially begins at 4:44 p.m. EDT during the autumnal equinox, when the sun crosses directly over the Earth's equator and both day and night are about equal. Fall will last a solid three months until the beginning of Winter on December 21, according to the U.S. Naval Observatory.

Fall is and has always been my favorite time of the year. Cooler weather, fall clothes, leaves changing colors, hot tea and lattes, soups, breads just to name a few.

I'm already thinking about pulling out the fall decor, purchasing a fall wreath for the front door, and some mums to fill the pots that sat empty all summer.
