Dear Grandma,
You've been in heaven a few days now, and I already miss you a lot. By now, you've been reunited with Grandpa, Clifton Jr., Sean, as well as your parents, sisters, brothers and numerous friends and family members.
Right now, I can flash back and see you standing in your garden picking red and green tomatoes. (You had quite a few stalks in your garden, they were tall and green.) The green tomatoes we would eventually cook - they always tasted delicious.
It was fun helping you bake homemade biscuits and tea cakes as a girl (which probably explains why I enjoy baking more than cooking to this day.)
There was never a dull moment with the four of us (Lois, Me, Sean, Stephen) playing on the front porch and other parts of your home until someone did something to get us into trouble. (Stephen)
Graduating from college and taking the photo first with Mom, then with you and Grandpa was just as important as the degree itself. The photos are still up ( next to the degree).
During some tough and low life moments in life you were there to offer words of hope and encouragement that life would get better as it goes on. (it did.)
Fast forward to the future, the last few moments we had together were precious. You managed a smile in the midst of your pain. Your last words to me were "I love you".
I'm so thankful we had you as long as we did (100 years). I'm sorry you had to go, but we knew Heaven was calling you home.
I know I'll see you again someday.
Love, Ramona
